A library card (Toshokan card) is required to borrow materials. You can use your library card at the following five libraries in Kamakura: Kamakura Central Library, Koshigoe Library, Fukasawa Library, Ofuna Library and Tamanawa Library.
If you lose your card, please contact the library.
Anyone who lives in or commutes to Kamakura can resister.
Anyone who lives in Fujisawa, Miura area (Zushi, Hayama, Miura, Yokosuka) or Yokohama
To get your library card, please fill in an application form and present an identification card which can prove your name and address, such as an Alien Registration card, health insurance card, driver's license, passport, student ID or mail received.
To bollow materials, please take them to the circulation desk with your library card.

You may renew your loan period one time only (2 more weeks), as long as there is no reservation for the bollowed material and no overdue material.
You may apply for renewal at the library counter, on the phone, from one of the library computers and from the library website.
To return bollowed materials, please bring them to the circulation desk. You can return books to any of the above five libraries.
When the library is closed, you can put them into the bookdrop outside the library entrance (books, magazines, picture books etc.) also at JR Kamakura Station and Ofuna Station. Please refrain from putting CDs or DVDs into the bookdrop as they break easily.
If the material which you want to borrow is out on loan, you can reserve.
Anyone who lives in or commutes to Kamakura can reserve.
Anyone who lives in Fujisawa, Miura area (Zushi, Hayama, Miura, Yokosuka) can reserve.
